I want to order a birth certificate online but have never done so and need some advice please. The person i am after was 32 in 1871 and on the census his birth place is given as Middlesex, i have ordered over a 100 certs from the FRO but have always done so there and i know it sounds really stupid but i am having a mind block and i dont know which way to go now........... His name was William Page |

First get the GRO index from Freebmd. If its not there, you might have to pay to get it from www 1837online com. Then you can order it here: http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ nell |

There are a lot of William Page's born around that time (1838/1839) on 1837online. It would depend on where in Middlesex he was born. Kath. x |

Kathleen i was fearing that, i would presume ( and we all know what that can do!) that he was born in Uxbridge |

Have checked all of 1838 and first two qtrs. of 1839 but can't find one registered in Uxbridge, although the last two William's in the March qtr. of 1839 have districts which are unreadable because of ink covering the corner of the page. Of course his age on the census could be wrong too, so may be born at a different time. Sorry, Kath. x |

Crista, i think that helps me to rule him out then as i thought his fathers name was something else..... maybe you can advise me on this though, i have found a death on ancestry for an Eliza Freeman Page and as i am trying to see if a married pair of mine had any kids i thought this may be a hopeful, his name was Freeman and hers Eliza ( if you see my logic! ) they married in 1852 so thought this one could be a possible, have clicked on the details and all that comes up is Dec 1859 Death and the place of death also 1B, where do i get other info to order the death cert.......... |

Your couple are childless between 1861-1881 and living in Ealing and Chelsea. Doesn't seem likely a death registered in Hackney would be a child of theirs. Crista |

Crista, i have always found them without any children but as they married in Uxbridge and thats not a million miles from Hackney plus the coincidence with the names, i guess i so wanted it to be one of theirs........ Thanks for all your help..... |
