I've recently been given (by a family member) the naturalization certificate of my husband's grandfather (Charles). It is dated April 26, 1911. They were from Opatow Radom (Poland) Russia. How soon, after arrival in Canada, could a person apply for naturalization papers or how long did it take for a person to be granted a naturalization certificate? My husband's father (Sam) was only 3 or 4 when they arrived in Canada and his naturalization papers are dated August 13, 1943. Thanks for any thoughts on this subject. Linda |
