Has anyone ever come across this situation in your family tree? It occurs twice in mine! I'm just importing my tree right this minute, and I hope GR can handle it!! |

well mine is a bit complicated, After being widowed ,Grt nan married her cousin .he died then she married his elder brother WHO had been married previously to HER younger sister. Not sure if the 3rd marriage was strictly legal. Shirley |

Yes, I have two sisters who had a double wedding and married two brothers. Both men are now sadly dead, so the two widows are very close and take holidays together each year. |

I had one sister married to George, she died in childbirth. Then he married her sister. Her other sister was my Gran and she married his brother. Took me ages to sort that one out Linda |

I don't know if I have or not. In 1869 two Gorrod sisters married two Worboys in the same area 3 months apart, one groom was my ancestor and the other MAY have been his brother. On the second marriage (my ancestor) the groom's father is annotated 'deceased', but I can't find a death in those three months. However, the father of the first groom was alive in 1881. So at the moment I have to assume that the second groom was NOT my ancestor, but the only birth I can find for the right name/area/date would make them brothers. Aren't brick walls fun! |

Yes I have it a couple of times. When you think about it, back then in a village it was probably very common. |

Hi Giles I have a couple of such situations and GR can handle it so long as you import your tree via Gedcom. But I doubt if you'll be able to delete any of them, should the need arise! |

I'm pretty sure I have this is my tree - two brothers from my family married two women with the same surname, I checked it out and am 99.9% certain that they were Sisters. Kaye x |
