Maggie who did he marry and where? where was the son born?? it might help. there are only 3 that turn up for 1871 , born Yorkshire ( none say brotherton) 2 are sons and the other a convict. as i have found that his isn't home...you can see the problem!

Hi Jess Thanks for your kind offer. I'm trying to find my g.great aunt on the 1881 census. Mary Jane Parlour. Born 1870 Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Wales. I've tried to find her on the 1881 census but I can't spot her. The only one I can find who is the right age is a Jane Parlour, servant with the Carver family, but this Jane was not born in Merthyr Tydfil. Her brother, John Henry Parlour born 1871 is also missing. Their parents are John George and Pamela Parlour both of whom died not long after the children were born. I thought the children may have been fostered and changed their names but they both married later under the Parlour name. I'd be very grateful if you can find them! Anna from Oz
