Hi all Would it be at all possible for one of you to do me a lookup in 1851/41 am looking for a James Barnacle on census says he is born Leicester 1834 his 1st wife is an Emma J born Leicester 1840 there eldest child is Mary Elizabeth born Leicester 1857 the rest of the children are born Empingham Rutland . I am trying to find which area of Leicester they are from to cut down trawling through records at Wigston and i cannot get there as much as i would like to.Thanks in advance Donna

Martin (Thurmaston and Syston), Stevenson (Orig Medbourne then St Maggies). Have most of Stevenson line back to 1770s and have Martins back to 1840 something but can't get back further at the mo. Happy to share what I have, or if anyone else has ifo that would be great.

Hi Mike Got my George Isaac Ward death cert this morning, brilliant I thought fishmonger (market) address Slawson Street, fits in with burial, no clue to wife cause George Ward was in attendance of 14 Market Street. Also went to St George's, found a Thomas Ward grave stone and some younger of his family!!! whoever they might be but not the ones you found. It's so peaceful there and even the squirrels were coming right up to us, Elaine

Greeting's Again June... Yes you are right it's not until after 1911./12. That the Mother's Maiden name is given on the GRO Index Ref.No.'s viewed through 1837 site or Fiche .... So..... The only way I can think of ( and this depends on Arther & Louisa didn't move about too much ? and you have a rough idea of the Church..) Is to trawl through the Parish Records for BAPTISMS within the area they lived in....at Wigston Records Office. ..... Also don't forget that there was Wars going off 1899 ~ 1902 2nd Boar War. 1914.~18 WWI Just in case Arthur was involved with the forces Which might be a reason for the age gap ? ..... Yet another Mystery that might be solved when the next Census comes out ...... MIKE.

Hi June What do you mean mothers name doesn't go on records untill 1912? If you are on about Birth certificates ive got some 1840s with mothers maiden name on. I dont know of a way to find out about births inbetween the 19 years without names Mike might know Bev
