Hi Donna, Already have that info, many thanks anyway, its 1841 and 1851 that are driving me crazy !! Thomas Pym b1787 Lockington is the father of the Phillip b1833 Kegworth. Thomas was in Nottingham for 1851, still married but without son Phillip (1833) or wife, he was lodging with other FWK's at Knights Place. Because Thomas married while seving in Malta it has been impossible to find out her name as all children were born pre 1837. Any ideas on that one?? Mike has come up with some interesting burials in Kegworth, but they belong to Phillips brother John ( c James) who was born in Malta 1815 and lived out his life in Kegworth. Regards, Ralph |

Hi Mike, Many thanks for the burials, most interesting, they belong to Phillips elder brother John (c James) born Malta 1815 lived in Kegworth all his life, I have him well documented until his death late 1881. Thomas b1787 Lockington was their father, he was in Nottingham for 1851, still married but no wife or family with him. He was lodging at Knights Place with other FWK's, whats driving me mad is where was the family, especially Phillip b1833 Kegworth and Thomas' wife (name unknown, married abroad, probrably Malta) all children born Kegworth pre 1837. Any ideas on next step?? Regards, Ralph |

Greeting's Again Ralph..... Yes I did notice John / James on the 1851. Census. with his family in Kegworth There was other Pim's = Eliza. aged 20. on her own. and three elderly woman. PIMMS. Index No. 113.= Castle Donigton. Ann. 59. Elizabeth. 62. Index No. 137. = Castle Donington. Martha 56. 1841. Census again in Castle Donigton St. Ann's Lane. Elizabeth Pimms. 50. Y. Ann. 49. Washer woman. Y. and a few doors down Martha Pimms. 45. Y. (again on her own.) Y. = YES born within the County. Your way forward ? ..... I think you need to have a look at the Parish Christening Records for Kegworth and hope the Mother's name is stated That will at less answer one of your queries.... I forgot to mention that an awful lot of the pages in the 1841 Census were very faded to make out names for sure..... So they could have been there .... Also there is no name search programme and it's in Parish / Village / Town order So its a trawl through page by page .... But I'm willing to do look up's for you Once we've sussed out the Town / Village..... MIKE. MIKE. |

Hi Mike, Thanks very much for all that info, at a quick glance they could well be related, although the Elizabeth b1792 at C Donnington for census could be Thomas' sister, I thought she had died in 1792 a few months after birth ( that info not checked so not gospel). The Margaret who died in 1831 is most definitely Thomas' mother, although she is slightly older than I thought. I've come to the conclusion that the Pyms were methodists as none of the children were baptised at St Andrews, Kegworth or any anglican church nearby, are the records in Leics CRO? Will have a ponder Regards, Ralph |

Hi all Had to wait for a cert as I can't get to grips with anymore of my Wright's and Kirkman bits at the mo so have this now. Have my Geroge Moore and Sarah Kendrick getting married at the chapel of Hugglescote where they are living. Sarah is born in Nailstone c1824 but have found only one Sarah whose father is William on the IGI 1825 born Normanton Le Heath, could it be a match or should it be registered at Nailstone (which is on the census returns) Elaine |
