Hi Mike/Bev That helps because I wasn't sure if that was her and that was the only match I could find for her. Silly I know but I just expected them to be together -just a feeling. Mary and Thomas are the ones who go off to America and come back again so I loose track of them 1891 as well but their daughter comes back American British citizen. Hi Mike Just curious, got Dennett Street from my modern map too, didn't think to look on my early one (learning again) Why or when if you know, does it change from Dannett to Dennett? Will I find this with addresses as I do more research and get used to street names? Elaine

Greeting's Again Elaine.... I've always known it as DANNETT Street. Looks like it's a miss translation on the Modern Maps ? ... Oh yes.... they messed the street names about a lot. I'll give you another one ....Duke Street. It was moved from around the Foundry Lane area to Welford Road.....Grrrr.... Sorry for the mention of the dreaded ' Foundry Lane ' words... MIKE.

Hi Mike Thanks for that, curious mind working overtime again. Was wondering also if you would be able to look at a birth for one of my Warris clan, I don't have much to go with them. Elizabeth is the mother but have a bit of a gap till Ann is born 1826 Leicester, am hoping she figures on a parish disk. Also I have never been to the Leicester records office in fact have not ventured into Parish records yet, have been able to do research from home and my hubby bought me 1851 and 1861 census as a pressie. What would you best advise, the new family history centre in town or a visit first to the records office, Elaine

Greeting’s Again Elaine….. Umm…. Seeing the Date is for 1826. (Which would be for a Baptism and not a birth) This then points to trawling through the Parish records At Wigston.for this Baptism. ( Providing you know the Parish which would narrow it down ) Personally I would go to Wigston for this.(Free parking in their Car Park) Where as The family History Centre as the Census & GRO files. ( And Parking is at a high price ) If you decide to go to Wigston then you’ll have to Register for a Readers Ticket This is FREE and lasts for 4 years. On your 1st visit.. Take some ID with you ( Drivers License, Utility bills ) You might also have to look at records for Sheffield seeing Elizabeth comes from there Which would mean a trip up there in order to get the right picture ? Mike Got to go to Wigston for most of them really, just have to decide who to start with, know it's silly but just daunted by the prospect. There are so many things I want to know besides tracing births etc because I want to start and fill a bit of history in besides names. Do they have newspapers on fiche there or main library as I am keen to see if there is anything regarding a coroner's report 1897. Again I have never done that!!! Elaine

(Educated guess it will be in St.Margaret's Parish) and work back-wards ( Do you know the Father's Name ? ) Has you said there's a big gap in years..... Yes Wigston Records Office has News parers on film which you view through an over head projector... Oh.. The Records Office at Wigston is CLOSED Sept 30th. ~10 th. Oct. for annual stock take.... Sorry I must have forgotten to answer this problem I've been through all my disks and as of yet not found any death information Elizabeth was young enough to remarry so we would not know her married name.and maybe Elijah took on this new surname as well ? I did find an William Hopewell (21.) enlisted in the army stating coming from Leicester on the 71. Census So just wonder if he got involved with both Boar Wars ? But I'll still keep My eyes peeled for you..... MIKE

Hi Mike Can I please have a 41 and 51 lookup for: William Pick born 1797 Syston, married to Elizabeth (she died in 1847 so won't be on the 51). Can't find anything on later census records, so William was very likely deceased by 1861. Am searching burial records for his death. Really wanted to know if they had any children, so any help (as always) gratefully received! Thanks Mike, as always you're a star! Hi Sarah If you go into roots chat, Search roots chat just under the search paremeters you will find your surname interests. just click onto that and it will take you to surname interest table. just put hincks in the search where its got underneath show all for the entered name. if you cant get it that way we will have to do it long way lol Bev ps let me know how you get on

Mike Are you able to do look ups 1841 for Thringstone? If so have a George Moore c1817 who marries Sarah from Nailstone but I don't know when. They have the following children George Moore c1845 born Whitwick Ann Moore c1847 born Whitwick Thomas Moore c1848 born Whitwick William Moore c1850 born Whitwick Mary Jane Moore Moore c1852 born Leicester Not banking on him being married then but worth a try.
