Al You should always try to have a reference number before you order - saves loads of money When you are able to go back before 1912 use this free site to find the reference numbers: www(.)freebmd(.)org(.)uk Remove the brackets Good luck Elly

if you go to (www.)1837online.(com) remove brackets

Then you will have to look in the GRO birth indexes, either online at www 1837online com, which you have to pay to use, or on microfiche at a library/records office. nell

Yes Valerie you did give me a link to a site u have to pay for that's why I'm not grateful of it, not everyone in the world has money!!, and again thankyou Kath.

Hi Valerie, I don't think AL realised you were giving her the site for ordering certificates. Not everyone realises that you can order certificates from 1837online as well as the GRO site. I must admit I didn't realise it when I first bought credits on 1837, and I've never used the site myself to order certificates - I always use the GRO site. Kath. x

As you know the exact birth date, you could order this from the LOCAL Register Office, who dont need (and dont use) GRO reference numbers. Olde Crone

hi Kathleen I have always ordered mine from there as I am usually on there when I find the details I need, thought it was the easiest way. Anyway Al is not very polite

<Yes Valerie you did give me a link to a site u have to pay for that's why I'm not grateful of it, not everyone in the world has money!!> How rude! Al, maybe you didn't realise that Kath has just had to pay to find the information you needed! No, not everybody has money, but why do you expect somebody else to use their money? If you are serious about family history, I'm afraid you're in for a shock, as it is certainly not a 'free' hobby.

hello Susan I agree with you some people think the world owes them a living , dont they, it would have cost hardly anything for AL to look this up themselves anyway. I shall certainly not try and help again

From Family Relatives site, there is only one marriage between someone surname Lucas and someone surname Kitching between 1913 (when both surnames start being recorded) and 1920 (when Family Relatives full indexing ends) I wouldn't mind betting this is the marriage entry for the parents of George Lucas. Normally, I wouldn't hesitate to spend my money to get the details and post them on the thread........... Hmmmmm, shall I? Merry
