I had info that told me my great grandfathers parents resided in Tasmania . But I cannot find any record of his birth or their marriage or any siblings either there was a family rumour that this part of our family came from N.Z so I wondered if it was true and if there is Free BDM available at all over there please? the names I'm after are George O'Day or Day and Mary O'Loughlin and their son Samuel O'Day the reason there is O'Day and Day is Samuel was married in the name of Day but he had 7 children and then changed his name to O'Day and had 7 more children for what reason I don't know so his father could be O'Day or Day. Samuel married in Victoria Australia in 1872 he was supposed to be 26 at the time but if you believe the death I found for him he was 34 at the time his bride 16, please fif you can help I would be very grateful kind regards Lara |
