Brown family - yes it is the right family. Most of the children's ages are right as I follow them through the census. William head 29years old 1881.1891 is 39.and 49 in 1901 age given as 62 when he died and his wife was informant. That is all I have. Irene

No it did not - that would have helped if it had. Had another look this morning in 1861 census and found a Amey Brown. widow 42, with Thomas, William A Brown and Edwin living Hackney but cannot find her before do not have 1851 census, or after . One of his daughters was Amelia and I wondered if this could be a connection wrong birth place but you never know. Regards Irene

Hi Many thanks for your kind offer. On the 1891 census I am looking for a JOHN BAYLEY born Holborn 1838/1840 I can trace him and family upto the 1881 census, (he was a printers labourer), they were living at 4 Pontypool Place, Southwark, London, then they all disappear. Any help would be appreciated Regards Shirley

SHIRLEY>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cant find them in 1891 at all-there does seem a blind spot for a lot of lookups in this census-have looked at alternative surnames-ie baillie and bailey-the latter is quite detailed. Checked the parents and 2 youngest for deaths between 1881 and 1891-nope -not under bayley anyway. In 1901 Ive found refernce to a Joseph Bayley 24 years old as a servant ,thats all so far.

Hi, Would appreciate you guiding me to a site for births etc. 1n the 1900's. I have tried for ages for births between 1910 and 1950 no luck - cannot use 1837 - cos do not know exact years never mind birth dates. So hope you can help, thanks - Gillian S.

It all depends on what area-as a general rule though you are restricted to 1837 and familyrelatives that covers upto 1920. However there are certain areas that have bmd indexes going on after these dates but still havent been completed. Cambridge area is to my knowledge the best and is free.Cheshire has an ongoing project,and other counties likewise-try enteringthe county name and the letters bmd and see what comes up-the searches are usually year by year and surname based-but if you scroll down there is a way of doing a 20 year search in one go.

Hes in England in 1871,1881 and 1891,previous to that he'll be in Scotland i would have thought-you have to pay for access to those records -they arent on ancestry.
