No Pippa, I was just using them as an example, but thanks to all answers I understand the reason now - to a beginner, like me, had I not of known they did have children I may have accepted that they did not-complicated this family tree thing-thanks to all for explaining it. Gillian S.

The entries you refered to were submitted by a member of the LDS church. The fact that it states no children just means that the member didn't submit any details about children, not that they didn't exist.

Janice Report 2 Oct 2005 21:02

Those dates may be a bit recent for familysearch, but try putting the parents' names in the boxes on the right hand side (old pages) and leave everything else blank. It will throw up baptisms of children who have parents with those names. You might be lucky. Janice

I think that is a standard reply. If they are being christened, they wont have kids! And probably wouldnt mention it when they married or died! They wont give you complex answers, you have to search for those! Give us some names to work on.

I am talking about 1893 births-1912 marriage-I get the birth date marriage date and death date but when I scroll down for the childrens names it states No Children, but as I say I know they had six. This is on FamilySearchOrg.

If you're using FreeBMD, don't forget to have a look at their coverage charts - there's not much yet after 1910. Christine

Are you talking about b/m/d's in England, or is it somewhere like Scotland or Australia, where childrens names are put on death certificates? Kath. x

Cant think what you mean - 'they all say no children'? Give us some name and dates to work on.

Judith Report 2 Oct 2005 17:25

If the baptisms, marriages and deaths you have found were on the IGI then either they were taken from parish registers, in which case they will only list the details available from the register or they were submitted by a church member or someone researching the tree in which case they will only have submitted what they knew (or guessed!) at the time.

Elly

Elly Report 2 Oct 2005 15:51

Gillian If your looking at birth or marriage reference, no children would have existed then. I assume your looking on IGI - I'm afraid it's pot luck, sometimes they're listed sometimes not, depends on who entered the details Elly

How come I have managed to find my Grandparents B /M/D but they all say no children-when in fact they had six? I have tried going into the resource numbers but still the same-am I missing something?
