thanks Roy and Crista - looks like someone couldn't spell at the registrar's lol!! Reckon it must've been Westcote. Found 1 possible person, so I suppose it wasn't a COMPLETELY pointless exercise!! Maz. XX

sorry, they have already been found elsewhere in 1881, but wanted to have a look at the street and surrounding streets for anything/anyone else that looked promising. should be so simple!! can't understand why it won't work!! Maz. XX

Thanks for looking! I have got an old A to Z (edition 9c probably 1970's) which shows it in SE1. Birth cert for 1880 says Westcott St, Registration Dist St Saviour, Sub Dist Kent Road, in the county of Surrey. Yes, I found untold in Dorking too! Frustrating isn't it!! Maz. XX

I can only find Dorking too! and that is Westcott flippin villas! it all goes on in Westcott Dorking though! Vicarages, public schools ,laundries - all sorts!

I have used my viewer 4.0 and discs and still can't locate Westcott Street, St Saviour, Surrey in 1881 (it is near Borough). If someone could please find the piece and any folio number, I can then go and 'walk' the street on Ancestry. Would be very grateful! Thanks, Maz. XX
