hi, am looking for infomation on an institute in west hartlepool in 1940 and someone born there either nov1943 or dec1943 name of dorothy weaver. how can i find info about her, would love to trace her as she was given away at about 2 years old, she is my mothers sister, my grandmother was called rose lilian weaver nee thomas . born 28 sept 1916. any help would go a long way, many thanks

Debs, If you are REALLY 'up for a challenge' - Please find Mark Fenton on the 1871 census. He was married to Margaret (McLoughlin, born c 1852) - They married on 2nd January, 1871 in Salford. Mark was born c 1850 Broughton, Salford, Lancs. Mark was a Stonemason - There are two children born prior to the marriage - Thomas Fenton c 1868, Manchester, and John Fenton c 1870, Salford. At time of marriage they were both residing in Wheathill Street. Mark's father was George Fenton, Joiner, and Margaret's father was John McLoughlin, Bricksetter. I have him on all census's before and after but not 1871. - By 1881, he was married to new wife Jane Woodroffe (No marriage found). Also no death found for Margaret and no other family members found for either on 1871. I have tried and others have tried so please do not waste too much time or too many credits BUT, If you come across him somehow, I would be ETERNALLY grateful. Dea x

Hi Debra, I've hit a brick wall while resarching my paternal Grandmother's family. Her father was called John Thompson and according to the 1901 census lived at 37 Dilston Rd, Elswick in Newcastle upon Tyne. His father's name was Thomas and was born in Billingham Northumberland and the mother was called Ann (no idea about maiden name). I can't find any records of Thomas in the 1861 census online and am stuck. I'd appreciate any help you may be able to give. Best wishes,

Hi Debra, Interested in John Duncliff or Duncliffe living in Lancashire or Manchester, died 1858. Should be on 1851 census. His wife is Ann and he has a child Frances or Fanny. Also interested in any other Duncliffes living in same county up till 1871. Duncliffe is a very uncommon name so anything you find is likely to be interesting. Thanks, Douglas
