I've always been interested in my village war memorial (Normanby nr. Middlesbrough, Yorks), especially as 2 of my relatives are on it. I'd like to find out more about the men listed and have already taken all the available information from the CWGC website. If anybody has anything more, either military or personal (DOB, occupation, parents/siblings, photographs) on any of them, I'd be grateful for your help. There will be more names to follow but the first few are : Sapper Thomas L Bearcroft, Royal Engineers ; Private Charlie Brudenell, East Yorks; Private Arthur Cann, 11th Yorks; Private J Robert Dale (great uncle), 8th Yorks; Lieutenant Leonard R Ferguson, 13th Royal Scots; Lance Corporal Rupert Gill, 8th Lancs Fusiliers; Private James H Hammerton, 5th Lincs; Lieutenant Frank Hermiston, 9th Yorks; Private J William Holdsworth, 8th Yorks; Private Herbert G Holsey, 9th Yorks; Private Richard J Hunt, 8th Yorks; Private David Markham, 7th Yorks; Private John Mollison, 8th Yorks; Private John G Nixon, 2nd Yorks; Sergeant Robert C Parkin (mother's cousin), Durham Light Infantry; Private Albert Priest, Royal Marine Light Infantry Thanks in advance!
