Angela, Have you got Frederick's 1910 marriage cert....... Does it record anything important about Edwin (like alive or dead?) Was his occupation still down as a baker? Merry |

I think martha is Ellens sister. Angela did not know Edwin was a Baker, the replies indicate that she knew he married a Lucy but certainly didnt know where- cant imagine she has the cert (maybe wrong) |

Frustrating this one, isn't it........? Yes, Ellen and Martha are sisters and prob one of them is Edwin's mother....... If Frederick hadn't been here in 1910 I would have said they had all emigrated.......!! I think Angela is going to need Frederick's marriage cert and maybe Edwin's birth cert, to try and get to the bottom of this. Merry |

Sorry Jess, I just saw your message number 20 at the end of page one......Yes, I agree, but maybe Martha could also be Edwin's mum?? Anyway - none of that explains where they have gone!! (Edwin and Lucy etc) Ellen is on every census! Ggggggrrrrrrr! Merry |

When you say on Ada's marriage is says number three, I'm not sure what you mean?? You said you are going to get the cert, so presume you mean something in the index says three?? Nothing in the index would give any indication of how many times someone had been married.........hope that helps? Ada did marry again in 1920, it's on page one of this thread, where I posted some entries from Family Relatives....to a Mr Jones LOL she had obviously got fed up with people asking her to spell her name!! The GRO index ref should be the same whether it comes from 1837online, Familiy Relatives, FreeBMD, Ancestry or anywhere else.....I say should, as someone did find one that didn't match between sites, but I'm sure this is pretty unusual! As for Frederick and Ada. This is the ref for their marriage: Rodds Frederick Roberts Ada Kings Norton District Volume 6c Page 715 Quarter 1 1910 I can't see a three anywhere!! lol Merry |

Angela - ot only LOOKS AS if they are sisters, to prove this you would need to buy their birth certs. On the image that i found EDWIN it was clear ,they were RODDS, he was ROSE. jESS |

hi jess so they went missing after 1891 what if they were in a work house would they still be registerd on the census angie xx |
|||
|
The Bag | Report | 20 Oct 2005 22:19 |
They would theoretically be registered wherever they were, prison workhouse hospital, etc etc. I dont know that they went missing in 1891 - just that they were not at the same address as they were in 1881 - which doesn't surprise me really. They are bugging me! I have been looking in old directories (thought him being a baker would be to our advantage but doesn't seem to be at the moment.) Jess |
