Hi all, My grandmother, her daughter(my aunt), and her great-granddaughter were all born March 8th. I tried to make it out on that date by being born weeks early, but missed it by a day. Several times I have had the strangest things happen like I will have a thought about someone that I haven't seen or heard from in years- and that same day I run in to them. One morning my phone rang once then nothing. I wasn't expecting anyone to call but I immediately thought it was a friend who lived in the town I had just moved away from 2 months before( but didn't think would keep in touch). Not long after the phone rang again and sure enough that's who was on the phone- but he hadn't phoned earlier he said. The day of my Mum's funeral,after it was all over, my brother and I were watching TV. All of a sudden the channel changed, and the remote was on the table. We both looked at each other. I asked him if that had ever happened before. He said No. Guess Mum wanted us to know she was there. At home a pile of letters 'fell' out of the letter rack on the wall. My other half said 'Oh it must have been that you didn't put them back in properly when you were looking for something.' I said that I haven't looked in there for ages. And I think that either his Mum or mine leave dimes (a ten cent coin in Canada) in odd places. Never any other denomination. STRANGE. Too bad it won't help with my family tree brick wall. By the way, and excuse the ignorance, who is/was Lancashire Lou Merry? Gail :O)

Hi Merry, nothing to do with dates. My great great grandfather Jacob Steel married Jane Mellor in Longnor,Staffs in 1832,their son John was born in Manchester in 1846 and who did he marry,you've guessed it, Jane Mellor ( hopefully not the same one) regards John

My grandmother was born 16 Oct 1914, married 17 Oct 1933 and died 16 Oct 1997. Her daughter Pat was born 15 May 1934 and died 15 May 1937. Her grandson died on his 21st birthday.

It is an old family tradition to die on May 8th. Unfortunatley my dad didn't quite make it but he was buried on May 8th. On May 7th we all tread very carefully and tend to stay in bed and certainly avoid walking under ladders! My mum decided to break the mould and died last Tuesday, but then she always was awkward and never did as she was told!!!!

I have 2 grandsons. One was born on MY grandfathers birthday, and the other was born on my husbands granfathers birthday ! Also my brother, sister and I are all born on the same day - 2 years apart !!!

Not really a tree thing (yet) but... When my mum and dad 'were first courting' he arranged their first date as a double date with his cousin and his new girlfriend - the girlfriend was my mums best friend. They'd both been onto each other about their new boyfriends but didn't realise they were cousins. Obviously my mum married my dad and his cousin is still married to my mum's best friend.

My Granny died fifty years to the day after her husband did (20/11/1942 and 20/11/1992) in the same place.

In the seventies i worked in a factory on the banks of the Tyne.two years ago I dicovered one end of the factory was built over the street where my gmothers side lived untill the 1840's and the other end was the car park where they lived in the1850's.I now live after moving allover the country just across the tyne from the church where my GGGGGGfarther was married in1762.I can see it from my window as I type this.BEAT THEAT IF YOU CAN

I have a relation who lived in the same street as his future wife, when she was 5 yrs old. Also, last Saturday, I met a lady in our local library and she spoke to me as we had the same style top on. It turns out that she doing family tree work and that she is looking for the Lawrence family and I knew that a good friend of mine was doing Lawrence as well. I knew the Christian names of some and where they lived and after a chat, it turns out that both of their great grandfathers were brothers! The lady from the library, also has one of my surnames in her tree and they are all from Portsea at around the same time, so it looks as if I am related to her and my good friend, although we didn't know it and all through wearing the same top!

Having misread a train timetable (with talent like that, I sometimes why I bother with family history, lol!) I was in a local studies library when I should have been on a train. Both I and a stranger were researching the same family (the one the Abbess belongs to). He not only turned out to be a cousin, but was an Australian, on a round the world trip. How could he afford it? His family had won the 'money lost in chancery' that my family lost!

I'm really terrified by a recently discovered co-incedence - I might be related to Lancashire Lou! We have a name in common on our trees that is anything BUT a common name. I am terrified!!! Jess x

I have the same birthday as my 4x greatgrandmother. I was born 161 years after her! Couldn't believe that her actual birthdate was on the parish register and it was the same as mine!! Jenny

My 2xgreat grandparents lived in the same street, as my husbands 3x great grandparents, within 5 years of each other, 2 doors away from each other in Ryder Street in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, although both families subsequently moved all around the country and into Wales, we met on the Wirral Merseyside. I do wish I knew if they had met. Helen

I discovered my half-sister was born 4 years after me and our birthdays are 1 day apart. Our mutual father was born 4 years before his sister too and their birthdays are 2 days apart.

My ggrandmother Margaret Ann Tooley was born in Birmingham, my ggrandfather Ernest Turner Kirkham was born in Manchester. On the 1891 census, Margaret Ann is with her family at 3 Back Howard Lane, Denton, Lancashire while Ernest is at No 5. On the 1901 census, the 2 families are in totally different towns but they married in 1904. They then moved to 11 Back Howard Lane which is where all their children were born. He married 'the girl next door' Sweet!

Not really a coincidence in my tree, but a lady I went to see at the Council, who looks up burial records totally spooked me! I was looking for my great grandparents grave - she confirmed the address they were living at the time of death and I confirmed yes, that was correct. She only turned round and said 'That's where I live!' Could of died! Spooky eh? Helen x

Hi Merry I discovered yesterday that my dad's paternal aunt through marriage (died in 1986) and my mam's sister (murdered in 1970) both had inquests held by the same coroner. They both died in the same area but neither of them lived there. They lived hundreds of miles apart. Trish
