Hi Valerie - what I meant was, if you tell me the details you have for 1881, then I will try to decipher the street name for you and see if it still exists - then you will be able to look at it on multimap or streetmap and see exactly where it was. Maz. XX |

Gosh this looks complicated.....but.....are you saying it's Mrs Keen who was born in Regents Park (do you mean literally - under a gooseberry bush??!!!)??? If you do then did you realise that the 1881 family you saw, it's the children who are born in Bow North and the mother just says ''England'' (nice and helpful!! LOL) Here's the transcript: 1881: Eliza C. Keen abt 1870 North Bow, Middlesex, England Daughter 41 Wheatstone Rd, Kensington, London, England John F. Keen abt 1873 North Bow, Middlesex, England Son 41 Wheatstone Rd, Kensington, London, England Mary A. Keen abt 1874 North Bow, Middlesex, England Daughter 41 Wheatstone Rd, Kensington, London, England Sarah Keen abt 1850 England Head 41 Wheatstone Rd, Kensington, London, England Sarah E. Keen abt 1869 North Bow, Middlesex, England Daughter 41 Wheatstone Rd, Kensington, London, England The street address is correct for where they are living (North Kensington) - it crosses Portobello Road, just east of St Charles Hospital Kensington and a bit further west of Wormwood Scrubs (!!). Then back to 1871 and the husband is alive: Fanny Hankinson abt 1852 Lancashire, England Servant St Mary Stratford le Bow London Eliza C Keen abt 1870 Bow, Middlesex, England Daughter St Mary Stratford le Bow London John Keen abt 1840 Shoreditch, Middlesex, England Head St Mary Stratford le Bow London Sarah A Keen abt 1849 Sheerness, Kent, England Wife St Mary Stratford le Bow London Sarah E Keen abt 1869 Bow, Middlesex, England Daughter St Mary Stratford le Bow London and Shucks - the wife has remembered she comes from Sheerness!!!!!!! Hubby is right for place, but completely wrong for age!!! So, that would appear to be that family eliminated.......Posting this before I click the wrong button and lose the lot........Then going to take another look............. Merry |

thank you both for looking I cannot understand it either I did look at the soldier wondered if that was him but ???? too many questions , how can they both disappear from 1871 and 1881 its odd, unless they both died I will have to see if there are any deaths for them, maybe he murdered her then himself. Off to the Gym now must get some exercise .Back later you bet !!!!! |
