Can anyone advise me as to where I can find birth details of someone born in USA to an English father (have searched USA recordsto no avail) and who, on the death of her mother, came over to England in the 1860`s. Marriage, Censusand death records only give an age making her birth year 1842 but nowhere can I find a date and no-one in the family has records. She died pre national health and as she was a British Citizen, through her father, she would have had free access to the country. Would she have had a passport in those days? She did travel a few times to America to see her daughter.Any help would be appreciated! Carol Jowett |
