Ok well I have his sons birth certificate. It shows John Thomas Alexander as his Father and Elizabeth Featonby Alexander (formerly Alderslade) as his Mother. On searching for Elizabeth, the only references are for an adopted child who was born in Castle Eden (Hatlepool), unfortuantely I can't find her birth reference to find her biological parents. Another reference in the deaths shows a death under the name of Alderslade in Hartlepool which matches the time frame to be her Father, but as yet I have no concrete proof.

Maybe this is Elizabeth? Births Sep 1886 Alderslade Elizabeth T Easington 10a 424 The middle initial might have been mistranscribed when it was added to the GRO indexes. Merry
