I have just realised I haven't any 'Ws' yet and I know others have mine in their tree. Have they not got round to the end of the alphabet yet? |

I agree Netti, I found it most annoying that the discard button didn't work, so they had to go in the 'don't show me these again.' Am going to see if I can rid of them from there when I have time. Jean |

Well at least some members are still getting them! I had 2 lots since they started and nearly and mis-matches. Both times thay had lots of name and birthday matches for my grandfather but they were all in Australia. But I know my grandfather was born in Wales (from original birth certificate). |

I am just relieved that the 'discard match' button now works so you can get rid of them in one click netti |

Kate! we must be related - all my hot matches are for Mary Brown too :-) My worry is, if they only match 100 at a time, and as its quite likely more than 100 new Brown entries are put on GR every fortnight, will we ever get matches from later in the alphabet? Think I might change all my Brown family surnames to Zwink and see if that helps! |

My top match has 7 matches but like Jo all I get is a 'Happygenes error' when I try to see who the matches are for. So will never know............ Barbara |

What is wrong with my tree??? I know I don't have hundreds in it, but I have not had any hot matches for the last 6 weeks. The last list I did receive had someone with 13 names that matched fantastic I thought must be a rellie, on checking the names yes all matched. Went back in to send him a message all I now get is happygenes error message!!! JoJo |

I got one for a name that I KNOW I don't have in my tree! I wonder who he matched??! (Anyone want him?) The rest of mine were for any number of James, George and William Henderson born anywhere but where mine came from. Christine in NZ |

I would just like to apologise to GR for erroneously predicting that all my Hot Matches this time would be for William Browns born anywhere in the world - they were Mary Browns this time! Kate. |

I think the criteria is, Same Name, Same Year of Birth, but who cares WHERE they came into the world! Merry |

These 'hot matches' amuse me. One of mine was a direct christain name/middle name and surname match, even born right month right year........ ..... Just in Australia!! Wouldn't mind but it was my brother! think i might have noticed if mother popped off to Aus to have him!! It isnt as though i haven't given him a birthplace , because i have. I would love to know what their criteria is for a 'match' cos if the above is a match i'd gladly settle for misses!! |

I have worked through the latest batch of hot matches. Every genuine match was someone I had already contacted, usually so long ago that their names didn't mean much to me anymore. I think that the hot matches are actually harvested a week or more before we get them. It may be that your hot match discovered the error of his ways and deleted. |

I just got excited because I had a Hot Match with 9 matched names......... Got to be a relative, I thought.................... NOOOO ............The other person had the same name and place of birth repeated 9 times in their tree!!! I find it very hard to believe one person would be related to nine men called George Clark all born in 1827........ Afterwards I did a Name Search for George Clark born 1827 and, guess what, there are only 9 on the whole system and all ''owned'' by different people!!! Not one owned by the name that came up in my Hot Matches. Wierd!....Happy Hunting - Merry x |
