Hello my name is Vicki Im looking for my Sumner family in and around Sandbach and Crewe or even outside the area. My Great Grandad was born in 1892 was married to Naomi dont know her maiden name or her date of bith, can anyone help at all, would be greatful if you could im stuck. many thanks vicki

You might be able to find your G Grandad on the 1901 census but would need his name at least !! You Grandad's BC would give you his parents full names and then you would know Naomi's maiden name and would be able to find the MC ESta

I had a look on http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk Cheshire Marriage indexes for the years: 1852 Surname Forename(s) / Surname Forename(s) / Church / Register Office / Registers At / Reference SUMNER Peter / BLOOR Eliza / Barthomley, St Bertoline / Cheshire Central / 107/1/282 Looks like you might be able to track down where copies of the relevant parish registers are kept (probably film/fiche). Then you could get copies from those for the price of a photo-copy instead of paying for a cert. In addition it would have the orginal signatures and not someone else's transcriptions of them Christine
