Hello John,... I have checked again, Ancestry are showing it to be Marylebone Pembrokeshire and the manuscript census form does look a bit like that but on closer inspection it could be Maylegove or similar I would go for the previous suggestions and will take a further look at my lot who came from Marylebone....may be the same error there

Re your second part of question re birth details - cannot help you there. Have checked the IGI and British Vital Records Index but nothing there. Hopefully someone will post info as to where Pembrokeshire parish records are held/available.

A useful website to find places - http://www(.)multimap(.)com remove the brackets enter Molygrove and you will see it is on south west coast of Wales.

H Elaine Thanks for that info on the village of Molygrove, I will follow that up. Would it strain the friendship too much to ask the second part of my question again How would I go about finding his birth details, now knowing the village and his approx date of birth being abt 1816 from the census info? Sorry to be a nuisance Regards John from Balmain Sydney

John, the place you are looking for is as Elaine has pointed out in her thread, it is Moylgrove, and not Marleybone or Maylyone. you can search maps online at multimap. Roy

Hi Elaine Yes it looks like Molygrove, is that a town, sub-district, parish or what? and any idea where it might be? I think I need a better atlas of Wales! Thanks for your help John from Balmain Sydney

Hi Colin Are you saying that Ancestry is showing that John Jones comes from Marleybone Pembrokeshire? as I am not up with info from that site. And if so any idea where it might be? Regards John from Balmain Sydney

Knowledge of Welsh geography - nil !! Is Moylgrove any good ? Cardigan Created 1st July 1837. Mainly in Caridganshire, but included parts of Pembrokeshire. Sub-districts : Cardigan; Newport; Llandygwydd GRO volumes : XXVII (1837-51); 11b (1852-1930). Bayvil, Bridell, Dinas, Eglwsyswrw, Kilgerran, Llanfair-Nant-Gwyn, Llanfihangel-Penbedw, Llantood, Llanychlwydog, Manerdivy, Meline, Monington, Moylgrove, Nevern, Newport, St. Dogmells, Whitechurch. Moylgrove now appears to be in Pembrokeshire ..... Moylgrove is a village in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is located near to Cippyn, Glanrhyd, Llantood, Monington, St Dogmaels, Tre-Rhys and Trewilym.

Just checked Ancestry and it is Marylebone....but in my research of a Pembrokeshire family I had presumed that the only Marylebone was in London...............but I still can't find it on my map

Can you post the ref for the page, and I'll have a look for you. It might be Marylebone, but without checking I don't know.

Could anyone help me out with a location in Pembrokeshire. My gggfather John Jones (who else) is shown on the 1861-1891 census as coming from Pembrokeshire but the 1891 )address &0 Marion Street Cardiff) shows the town? as being something like Maylyone. I have checked the atlas to see if I can find anything like it but no luck. any ideas? Second question is a bit thick but I haven't searched back this far up till now, How do I go about finding info on his birth, do I have to get it from his marriage cert or what? Please forgive the ignorance, any help really appreciated John from Balmain, Sydney
