Hello Madeline, thank you for your kind offer, I am looking for my grandfather a James Chatten b abt 1878, he was in the Royal Horse Arillery at Woolwich.......South East London.....SE18 he was there from abt 1905 until he died in 1932 ( he joined before these dates but was stationed at Christchurch Dorset) many thanks ......Lilly

Thank you Madeline for your kind offer. Please could you try and find William Thomas Goodenough, born 1875 Bermondsey. On 1901 Census the family was living in Egham, Berkshire. Please forgive me ignorance but hoping this is part of London. I think he could have changed his name from William Goodenough to Thomas Goodnough as on 1901 census. William Thomas Goodenough would have been approximately 30 years old by WW1 so I do not know if he was too old to join at the time, (although his brother-in-law was the same age and died serving in WW1) Thank you once again and hope it is not too much trouble to find. Hi Everyone, I have the London section ( 3cd's ) of ww1 National Roll, it gives names, addresses and when the person enlisted and where they served (at home or abroad) if anyone would like me to look-up for them just tell me the name and which part of London they lived. There isnt many from the East End but lots from the north,west and south london. ( my ancestors came from the east end and they are not listed but its worth a try ) Madeline
