Hi Madeline Many thanks for your very kind offer I am looking for a John Comley born 1886 who lived in Greenwich, and a Joseph Holmes born 1880 Wandsworth, Surrey Any help would be very appreciated Regards Shirley

A E Berry,there were 6 Berry's, one was E Berry Suffolk Regt Kilburn all the others were all from S E London Harmer, the only ones are A W Harmer Lambeth F A Harmer Walworth H T Harmer Lambeth C Harmer Walworth Bagley, only 2 H Bagley J H Bagley both from Chiswick L Burke 2 from Kennington, 2 fron S E London and one from Kilburn Tredgett , only 2 both from Peckham F C Smith none with his number Falkus none listed sorry Kidgell none sorry E J Knight none from Essex regt Elliott 2 from Old Kent Rd A C and M ( mrs ) C from Kennington Valentine Smith, the only ones with V in the initials are V H Peckham A V Walworth A V Peckham A V Nunhead E Woodhouse none from Middlesex regt sorry Henry Smith H Old Kent Rd H '' '' '' H Camberwell H Walworth H J Bermondsey H B Walworth Thomas Wisbey Wisbey T W Private, Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry He volenteered in Sept 1914 , the following Feb was sent to the western front. He fought in many engagments of note & was severely wounded during the first battle of the Somme on Sept 14th 1916. He was admitted to hospital and died from his injurys 2 days later. He was entitled to the 1914-15 Star & general & Victory medals '' The path of duty was the way to glory '' 59 Crown Street Camberwell SE5 very sad , i'm nearly crying here Prior W H Private Queens Royal West Surrey Regt Volenteered 1914, Sent to the western front where he fought with distinction at Ypres, Somme & others. He was twice wounded & was returned to England &demobed in 1919, he holds the 1914-15 Star & General & Victory medals 24 Richmond Street Kennington SE London

Hi Madeline, thanks for your kind offer. I would be really grateful if you could look up for me Henry Smith born 1891, and his brother in law, Thomas Wisbey born c1886, (killed in action 16/9/1916). Both were from the Camberwell area of South East London. Regards Gillian

Madeline, Thank you so much for your time in having a look for Dudley Blake PRIOR. I am sorry I couldnt pin down where he was living at the time of enlistment. I cant even find his first marriage, nor the births of his two sons. The WH Prior Kennsington could be his uncle but I will not bother you in trying to trace that one, as I was really after Dudley. Frederick Reed There were 5 Reeds, one was F Reed but he was from Kensal Green and was in 1st Essex Regt Waight Sorry no with that spelling at all Longhurst, there were 5 altogether, all from Waworth and Bermonsey

Huse sorry none listed at all Prince , one with similar initials T G Prince Rifle Brigade Kennington Tacchi, there isnt any listed at all sorry Rogers there are a few Rogers with similar initials but from Shepherds Bush , Kilburn and Brentford Burton, A E Burton, Pioneer RE Battersea H Burton RFA Battersea H Burton Royal Engineers Battersea other Burtons but are from SW W J Hughes a couple of Hughes, J Hughes Wandsworth and Battersea I think this this is yours W G Peplow Sapper Royal Engineers He joined 1917 and after his training was stationed at Regents Park on work connected with goverment building. He was not succesful in obtaining his transfer overseas owing to the important nature of his duties. He was demobed in April 1919 27 Goda Street Kennington SE London

King , there were 4 that maybe is yours S King Clapham W King Clapham W G King Wandsworth W H KingPeckham Truckle, Frederick C , sorry there was'nt any listed Remington, sorry none listed Knight, there are so many Knight's about 3 pages full, i have put a few down which may be of use but there were none from Hammersmith/ Kensington area E Knight Clapham E Knight Camberwell J Knight Lambeth Clark and Littlejohn Loads of Clarks but as i didnt have any initials it isnt possibe to write them all down, Littlejohn none at all Huse None listed sorry
