Hi there Have been looking for my grt-grt -grandmas birth certificate and ordered what I thought was the correct cert 2 weeks ago-with checking point of fathers name. Rang them today got a refund -oh no not the right one. That is the only Ann Maria Reeves I could find in 1857 born Birmingham. According to the IGI she was born mar 1857 Birmingham parent John and Elizabeth Unless of course she is registered after June 1857 as the one I found was in June the one in March was Coventry. Any ideas before I go mad as I don't seem to be able to find the marriage of her parents either. Thanks for reading this Zoe

So thiis is the IGI record you saw: ANN MARIA REEVES Event(s): Birth: 07 MAR 1857 Christening: 13 FEB 1860 Aston Juxta Birmingham, Warwick, England Parents: Father: JOHN REEVES Mother: ELIZABETH Messages: Extracted birth or christening record for the locality listed in the record. (The Coventry baby would prob be the child of Henry and Ann....that one is on the IGI too) Have you found yours on the census, to establish a place of birth?? It may be that she wasn't registered - not compulsory until 1875..... Merry

Hi June That is a possibility but I think there are about 3 marriages to a John and Elizabeth around the right area that's why I wanted Ann Maria's bith cert. Does anyone know if I get to see the parish record for the births would I get the mothers maiden name? If not what info do you get Zoe

If the children were born in Bilston they should be registered in Wolverhampton, i think?

Zoe

Zoe Report 16 Jan 2006 11:21

Jim it says Bilston then Birmingham and in 1861 they are living in Aston Birmingham they are quite confusing Zoe
