Am trying to discover why my ancestors would have changed their family name from TOUT to ROBERTS sometime between 1891 & 1901. The TOUT`s were living in Portsea, Hants at the time of the 1891 census. they then pop up in Eastleigh, Hants on the 1901 census. It wasn`t until i obtained a death cert that the name TOUT cropped up, as i had come to a holt trying to trace the ROBERTS. Can anyone point me in the right direction as where i should be looking for information which may help me find out the answer i have been so long looking for. Thanks Darren Jenkins |
