I have found an ancester AND have found her date of birth and where she was born BUT now i need to find her sisters or brothers how can i do this

Start with the siblings parents.Have you looked on any of the census yet you might find then on there . Helen

helen just a beginner at family tree and at the moment having problems finding out about this ancester im afraid

It depends WHEN she was born. Before 1837, you need to check parish registers (some on www.familysearch.org) for children baptised to same parents After 1837 you can look in GRO birth indexes for children with the same surname in the same registration district, but you'd need to get the cert to check they are the right ones. Between 1841-1901 you can look on the census.

yes her name is ellen toomey(maiden name) married dont know when or where william joseph osborne ellen birth 1891 in dublin died 1969 england apparently had a sister called HELANA OR ELEANOR

Assuming her sister was also born in Dublin, records are with the Registrar General at Joyce House, 8-11 Lombard Street, Dublin 2, + 353 1635 40000, www.groireland.ie.

The trouble with Irish records is that very little is available online.......Joyce house will conduct a search for another birth cert for you......from memory they will look over about four years, so knowing if sister was older or younger would help, but not vital. merry

Ann I have given you the contact address for the reg office in Dublin. This is where you would need a search IF the sister was born in Ireland. nell
