I have orderd Emily Taylors Birth Cert, nee Dunn, and their Marridge Cert to Jabez, must be in the post by now.

I Know every one Comming down On the grave stone is also her son Jabez Taylor Born 1879 and his wife Emily Taylor Born 1881,

Also, have you tried looking for her children in the 1901 census, it might be easier to find them and see if she is living with them.

John Have you tried ordering her death certificate to see who registered the death. That could give some clues as to family members.

What is the name on her gravestone and is anyone buried with her - do you have details of a husband? Generally if children have their mother's maiden name it means they are illegitimate - though not always. nell

Thanks for the replies, all I have is a picture of her grave stone,She died 25th june 1902 aged 64, the say in the family is that her sons took their mothers name (do not know why)

If she died in 1902 she must be on 1901 census etc. Do you have any details about her family? I'm guessing her name is mistranscribed in death index and it could be Anthea Athena Althea How old was she when she died?

Can antone come up with a guess what name my g/g/ggranmother would have called her self, her name was ATHERLIA Taylor died in 1902. I've put in just her first name on ansestry and it came up with just 1 entry Her death in 1902
