This thread is better than a soap! I was just going to bed, but now have to wait to see if Val has a floppy drive for her floppy disks, or not! Come on Val, I'm sleepy (or, I was!) Merry |

Valerie..... If you have a small slotted opening in the front of your PC - then you have an 'A Drive' or floppy drive - which will work for backing up information. The problem, though, with this type of back up is that it is being phased out as there are newer, better ways to back up information - like burning the information to a CD. If you have a CD burner on your PC that would be a better way to go as far as backing up goes. Floppy disks don't hold much information.....to give you an idea of how little they hold, for example, would be that a floppy might hold anywhere from 8 to 12 pictures, depending on how big the pictures were saved as and a CD would save upwards of 700 pictures - again, depending on the size of the picture. If you need to back up information ASAP and you have the A Drive, by all means, for now, back up your information onto the floppy - if you're looking to back up your whole PC you will need quite a few of those floppies, though! If you need directions for either backing up on a floppy or burning onto a CD give me a shout and I can walk you through it. Judy |

Oh Valerie you ARE funny, - you made me laugh. Having said that - I can't talk you through it because I'm not the best at this sort of thing but as regards your 'floppies' - All is not yet lost ! Does your tower have a slit which the floppy would fit into or does it just have the little drawers which come out and have disk-shaped holes in? Dea x |
