Hi Kath, Thats a thought, as her parents and two siblings are not with her on the 1881 census, Maybe her Mother, Father and two children went and left her here with her other sister. If I could just find her DOB I would be happy. If they did go back to Ireland thare isn't any hope of tracing them. Thanks for help. Enjoy your evening. Ann

Hi Kath, Hope you enjoyed your bath!!! This is them......thanks very much. I will now look at the name on there for her birth. If you wouldn't mind still looking at 1891 for me. On her marriage certificate in 1899 she is down as Susannah Bryan same as on the 1881 census. You have added a whole new line to my tree..... Thanks thanks thanks. Hi Liz, Thanks to you too for all your help. Can feel my headache going. Ann

Just had a look at 1871 census and 189, but can't find them. Sorry, I know thats not much help. Are you sure the surname is Bryan? and spelt like that?... I checked the image for 1881 and it does look like that name but could the Aunt and Uncle on the 1881 census have got their name or spelling wrong?.....just a thought... Sue

High Liz, I am very gratefull for everything you have done. When I posted my message I had to go away from comp. for a while. Was going to put details on but when i came back all details were there. I have already had help from Zoe ( 1891census look up) she has been unable to find anything out as well. I dont like to ask for too much help because you all have your own tree to sort. What place would be best to look at 1871 census, see if she is there. Ann

Ann, No-one is suggesting you join another site - there are plenty of people here more than willing to do census look-ups for you. I have tried to find her myself, unsuccessfully, but someone else may be more fortunate. It will help to find her on an earlier census as her place of birth may be more specific, and she may be with other family members who may be easier to find. Also, if you look at Alice's reply again, you will see it came before I entered the 1881 details - I waited for you to respond but you didn't so I thought I would help. I know you already had that census, I was posting it for the benefit of those of us who are trying to find your family for you. Liz

Hi Esta, Her Fathers name was James Bryan, no idea of Mothers name. Why would it help me, to find her on an earlier Census?. I dont want to join another site just to look at the 1871. All the rest of my Rellies are Scotland and Ireland, and I have just had to pay for a researcher to look for my ggrandads military details and death. Not being a skinflint, its just not possible to join every site. Moaning Ann.

You say parents are deceased at time of marriage but what are the names ? As she is down as niece on 1881 maybe finding her on an earlier census with parents might help to track her forward. Esta

Thanks for replying. Alice, if you look at my thread again you will see that Liz has put on the details for the 1881 census. Liz, Thanks, but have that info, this is the whole family I have lost. Esta, Father and Mother deceased at time of marriage. Apologise if that all sounds abrupt, but I am really very grateful for everybodies help. I feel like I have been looking for ever. Ann Pat and Lesley, Not looked on 1871, dont know where too. Tried variants of name Bryan, but also tried variants of Goodwin.

Where can they have gone??? I have this family on the 1881 census. I have tried to find them on the 1891 census and so as somebody else on this site, with no luck at all. How can this be, they must be somewhere. Found one on the 1901 census when she married my ggrandad. This is the person i am most interested in: Susannah Bryan, in 1881 age 14, in 1899 on marriage cert age 30,slight discrepancy in year of birth. She is down as being born in Manchester but i cant confirm that, as also cant find records of birth. Can anyone give me any idea as where to look next. Thanks. Ann
