My local paper has an article on 'the history of the police force' and there is a wonderful picture of above named man in full uniform believed to be one of the earliest pictures taken of a police constable,(1848) although the paper is the liverpool echo i am not sure if the picture is liverpool based, it could be surrounding areas of cheshire/wallasey. so if you have John henderson in your tree who was a police constable, this would be the bees knees in photos to have, there is also a picture of the wallasey police life-saving team of 1920.and Liverpool City Police CID flying squad of 1955/56......MOE!
