I hope thats the case Abigail. I can see it being like that anyway particularly in those days and if they had all moved out.

Hi Ian, just as an aside it's perfectly possible your Great Aunt forgot about the other aunts/uncles - I had exactly the same thing when i was talking with my husband's Gran and she instsed there were 8 siblings of her dad's but there were 12!! When I then tentatively mentioned the other names she suddenly remembered them all and had stories and anecdotes for them all too!! abi

Can anyone see if they can find Thomas Wright Jackson's death as I can't find it and it seems odd they'd name another child Thomas.

Ian Report 5 Mar 2006 22:19

Right off to bed, found quite a few more bodies for the family tree. I can't find a death certificate for Thomas Wright Jackson. Hopefully I'll get the certificate I've been waiting for in the morning too. :)

Does it look as though Thomas Wright Jackson as died at some point as they look to have named another sone later on Thomas? Would I be right here and add another thomas and look for a death cert?

Although it looks as if you have the right family - the only way to be 100% sure is to back it up with certs ( BC - for parents names or MC for the fathers name ).....Jackson is quite a common name. Esta

Thanks Esta, I've traced Alfred back to 1871 census where he's living with parents and siblings. Can you please let me know if I'm making a mistake and choosing the wrong people as I don't want to add 20 names and then be told I've got it completley wrong. :( Thomas Jackson abt 1829 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Head Alvaston Derbyshire Mary A Jackson abt 1829 Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England Wife Alvaston Derbyshire Alfred Jackson abt 1857 Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire Ann E Jackson abt 1861 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Daughter Alvaston Derbyshire Louisa Jackson abt 1864 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Daughter Alvaston Derbyshire Matilda Jackson abt 1866 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Daughter Alvaston Derbyshire Thomas Jackson abt 1868 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire

I've just checked the 1891 census listing and the people living with Alfred Jackson are: Alfred Jackson abt 1857 Burton, Staffordshire, England Head Alvaston Derbyshire Emma Jackson abt 1859 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Wife Alvaston Derbyshire Edward Jackson abt 1878 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire Wellesley Jackson abt 1881 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire Frederick Jackson abt 1883 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire Samuel Jackson abt 1884 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire Alfred Jackson abt 1886 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire Herbert Jackson abt 1888 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Son Alvaston Derbyshire Emily Jackson abt 1890 Alvaston, Derbyshire, England Daughter Alvaston Derbyshire I've noticed that there is a Wellesley Jackson listed. I've never heard of the name Wellesley before especially as part of the family. I bet it's dead common though because I'm going to search for it. :D

I can look at the census images but they are not very clear. If you p.m. your E.mail I will try to send you the images. It took me a while to find as I was looking for a Derbyshire birth place. I had a son go to boarding school in Burton and it is only just the other side of the river Trent. I will see what else I can find for you.

Annie thanks for that. Are you able to look at the census page itself to find that information or just the Ancestry search page of those in the house? If you can see it then could you tell me if he's still at 41 Baker St? I also have my great aunts marriage certificate and she is listed as living at 56 Chambers Street. Her husband is listed next door at 54 Chambers street. I'm trying to find his parents details of where they lived and stuggling to find them too. Great Aunt - Florence Jackson (became Rickard) Husband - Gerald Rickard (Helston Cornwall) Husband parents: Alfred Rickard Glady Liddicoat My aunties parents were: Frederick Jackson Martha Lewis (Tiverton) I can't find the family in cornwall. I've found individuals but never the whole family to add more names.

The only problem I can see here is that my Great Aunt who's still alive didn't mention two of these uncles/aunts of hers. I wonder if they had died or something between then and 1916.

Ian That's life. I've got some relatives who disappear in one census and resurface in another! nell

My great grandparents were called Frederick Jackson and Martha Lewis and were married 09/03/1907 at Church of St Mary, Boulton, Derby. They were born c.1870 Frederick had several siblings named Austin, Samual, Florence, Emily and Reuben. I am having problems finding these people in the census' etc. They were from Derby and I'm aware that Reuben moved to Birmingham and was married there. I just can't find anywhere they are all listed together so I can start looking from there with the details I can get from them. I am also confused because one of Frederick's children, my great uncle, was born in 1911 on his birth certificate but the only Clarence William Jackson I can find is showing as born in 1908. Any help appreciated.

Hi there again. It seems a bit too common I'm needing your help. I recently spent the afternoon raiding my great aunts house for certificates etc however I'm struggling to find them because they were pre 1937. Look below:
