Hi Ladies, thanks for this thread, I've ben laughing out loud :) I've found Tesco's great although I have to say a wise friend said to me 'Intenet grocery shopping is great but you'll want to smash the computer the first four times you do it, just make sure you keep trying and it'll prove its worth'. I have to say I've only done it three times (been great) and this time is the fourth - roll on Thursday and the nice Tesco man! Abi

Yes, it's funny how they are always doing you a favour when they do any housework. Like ' I've washed your floor for you'. And don't you just despair when you have to step over all the clothes in the son's room in order to open a window to let the smell out. then they dump it all in the linen basket at once and wonder why they don't have any clean shirts. Oh what bliss...back to family tree research...very therapeutic.

Hi all, I've really enjoyed reading this thread, but I have to say that my husband enjoys going shopping and as he is a chef, cooks for me as well!!! He is also happy to let me work on the family tree while he sits watching tele. Tesco delivery does come in real handy, particularly when my Husband was in hospital, as I can't drive! Lynn : )

Another funny thing.................... We have a small room with two desks and two computers and a filing cabinet. The filing cabinet is right next to his desk. However, being a female (and in his eyes, therefore a secretary) I am the one who has to do the filing......so........ He is at his desk. He hands some paperwork over to me. I get up, walk round to behind his desk. I say, ''Excuse me'' because I cannot fully open the drawer whilst he is sitting there.......he gets up and watches me file the paper....I go back to my desk and he sits down....... Hmmmmmmmm............ Merry

Ohhhh Just thought Merry, in the evening, I get up - he says just put the kettle on for me. Like he is really going to make himself a cup of tea. So I make the tea, walk in, go to hand it to him and he always points to the window sill next to him. I then have to climb over his out stretched legs to put it on said window cill - I know I shouldnt do it but .................. By the way, whenever I cite someones husband who does shopping, does ironing, hoovering and doesnt dismantle an engine on the kitchen table he always carries on with what he is doing and murmurs 'Probably a closet gay'.

Just back after donating blood.......and that's another thing.....men are such babies. If I had a cold (and carried on regardless) he always had the flu. I hope no men are reading this, though their thread would be all about map reading, women drivers etc.

WELL, now you mention that - guess who fainted in the doctors surgery when he had a blood sample taken - eh??

I've enjoyed reading everyone'e comments and have realised that my husband is entirely normal! I think women are genetically programed to multi task - looking after children etc, whereas men only seem to be able to cope with one thing at a time. What happened to the hunter gatherer? I don't know how their distant ancestors hunted for food if they can't see what's in front of their very eyes! To his credit he does help me. We've got two pre school children - so I need as much help as possible. I'm sorry to hear that others haven't had good service from Tesco Home Delivery. I've had really good service from mine and it's a god send as my husband needs the car for work. And talking about driving, I don't drive that much so I'm rubbish at parking (I blame the car it's too long!). However if we venture into unknown territory - he drives I map read AND we NEVER get lost!

Tesco has some really good offers which pay for the delivery charge. Their clubcard deals are really good too - I've just sent some off for Legoland. They paid for my brother and his family to go to Disneyland Paris. Their children's clothes are really good value too, however I can't get them on home delivery. I think Tesco should be paying us for free advertising!!

Have been reading all your messages with one thought in mind, how could you ladies let your men get away with it. When we both retired my husband said that as we were now both retired it was only fair all the housework etc., was shared'. Lovely idea. He then encouraged me to get out and take a craft class once a week, while I was out he would clean the house through. I did all the cooking but he then decided to try his hand at making cakes, became an absolute whizz, providing birthday cakes for our children, then grandchildren and 1 gt.grandson. He never missed sending me flowers and a card on our anniversay, and saved his pocket money for birthday and christmas presents. No he wasnt a saint just a warm kind thoughtful person.

He sounds lovely, Grace, but could you speak to him whilst he was baking?? If yes.....then a very special person indeed! It's not that we don't try, anyway (with the training, I mean!) Merry
