Can any one help I have a birth certificate for William Thomas Curby Curling Oates born 1896, I have a marriage certificate for his parents Willam Oates (Father Robert John Oates-pilot) and Jennie Wilkins.(father John Henry Wilkins-Publican) dated 1896. My problem is that I cannot find Jennie/Jenny/Jeanie wilkins on any census prior to her marriage. I have found potential John Henry Wilkins's but none living with a daughter Jenny at any time. She is 23 at the time of her marriage which makes her born in 1873 but I just cannot find her can anyone give me a clue as to what to do next. I would be grateful for any tips at all Tracey

They had a Son (my grandfather) in 1896 William Thomas Curby Curling Oates (named for his step father) and the only William Oates b.1896 I have is living with a father name of William and Mother Eliza. I thought perhaps it was Eliza Jenny but still cannot find her living with John Henry Wilkins, even as a child before her marriage. I have traced the Oates line back with help from friends on thsi sight and so far have not had to go to Poland for any information. I am thankful for this as my Husband thinks tracing my family tree is not costing me any money!!!!!!!!!!!! T x

Thought the 'Poland' bit might be a mistranscription, but it doesn't seem to be. There's quite a little enclave of British Subjects born Poland on the page.............and all the heads of household are Tailors by profession There is no record of the William born 1896 with this family................
