hi heather and kath a lovely lady named cath on this board and a lady called andrea on the records board found this on the 1841 census. Found them! Hotel Street, Great Bolton John Aspinall-40-Wheelwright, Jane-40, Betty-15, Ellen-15, James-10, Edna?-9, Esther-8, Rich?-6, John-5, Margaret-3; Living with family are Betty Aspinall-60, (John's mum?); Peter Morton-20, William Bulgar-40, Jane Bulgar-35 and Patrick Bulgar-10 there was another james then aged 10 in 1841 along with a betty, ellen, edna and a margaret we didnt know about i have also found abirth for a james aspinall born bolton 1850 so i am going to send off for it. there were two others for 1849 but i will wait till the 1850 comes and check that one out first. . so i am going to try and find the other missing kids on familysearch . who knows i might get lucky. i still think that th possibility of james being esters son is a very good one. and cant wait to get his birth cert. would jane have registered him as hers do you think ? thanks for ALL YOUR HELP i couldnt have done it with out you love linda xx |

Good luck Linda, by the way if he was 1 on the 1851 census he could have been born any time between April 1849 and April 1850 so he is more likely to have been born in 1849 than in 1850! I hope you don't have to get too many birth certs before you get the right one. Kate. |

Did any of you guys get anywhere with this? I'm also looking at this family tree, and it isn't straightforward! James Aspinall Jnr married Emily Pearson in 1870 (27/08). On the cert, her name is given as Emma which isn't unusual especially as she was illiterate, and the address they both lived at on the marriage cert was the same as on the 1871 Census for the Pearson family. |
