That was on my maternal Grandfathers family, now on my maternal Grandmothers side....hmmm lets see, we have Joseph, who Married Mary, his father....Joseph, his mother...Mary aarrrgghhh. I think this is one of the thirteen commandments, If thou art called William or Joseph, thou shalt only marry Mary. T x

Tina, my William was brother to Richard, their Father was Richard as was HIS father, Both of those Richards Had a Brother William, the youngest Richard had a son William, and there are a couple of sisters called Mary in there too. I will resign too if I find they married Williams. T x

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. And now, to add insult to injury, one of my William's had a sister called Mary and guess who she married? You got it - a William! I resign! Tina

...and why all the Williams who married Mary in 1849 have not been transcribed in FreeBMD yet, so I will have no idea who Mary is until I can order the cert, therefore having nowhere else to go on that line. aaarrrggghhh. Found My Williams marriage, but no idea who to, certainly not any of the surnames we thought. T x

For heaven's sake - I've had just about enough of this. Could someone please explain to me why every male named William in my family finds it absolutely necessary to marry a woman named Mary! Tina (who did not name her own children either William or Mary but has a nephew ................!)
