I think her maiden name was Powell. On the 1871 census Matilda's birthplace is given as Wednesbury, so I did a search of the 1851 census just using Matilda's first name and putting Wednesbury in the keywords box. There was no Matilda Poole, but there was this:- Able Fletcher abt 1791 Willenhall, Staffordshire, England Head Willenhall Staffordshire Mary Fletcher abt 1791 Bam Thelers, Staffordshire, England Wife Willenhall Staffordshire Joseph Person abt 1837 Atherstone, Staffordshire, England Apprentice Willenhall Staffordshire >>>Matilda Powell abt 1838 Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England Niece Willenhall Staffordshire Will Veale abt 1832 Shareshill, Staffordshire, England Apprentice Willenhall Staffordshire Thos Vichers abt 1834 Shareshill, Staffordshire, England Apprentice Willenhall Staffordshire As your Matilda had a son called Able, he could have been named after this uncle that Matilda Powell is living with.
