Steven, it was your thread which left me feeling very inferior - I didnt have a Fanny at all. Then there was Gramps who seemed to have my Fanny and a lot of other peoples aswell in his collection. I have been searching for a Fanny since that time and now I have one and shall look after her. |

Heather, It is info like this that helps us poor, missguided, idiots, who sit at our computers whilst the sun shines. Frustration, anger, swearing,and then we get loads of laughter. I am sure the parents who name their children with such names, were/are unaware of the laughter they generate. But then things that were funny 100 years ago are not now, and vice versa. Robin - in my mother's paternal NEWTON family in Buckinghamshire, there is a Fanny whose name was registered as Fanny on her birth certificate though was described as Anna on a census. * sits back and waits for this thread to be pulled just as Steve's was * |
