Thankyou Ken, this is very interesting, my Carons upto now come from the Middlesex area Bethnal Green going back to the beginning of the 1800s, but pretty sure have a French Connection. My Connors come from the Manchester Area upto now anyway, was told maybe Ireland. My Lang name also Manchester but possible county Cork in Ireland although a possible Scottish name. Whiteheads all upto now have come from Stoke on Trent, but I have noticed over many months of research that a lot of people with the name Whitehead seem to come from the Oldham Area. Thanking you again! Marie : )

Tilden - SUSSEX - HASTINGS No doubt LOL Coventry - 3 areas Central Scotland (Kinrosshire & Fifeshire) Lancs (W. Derby & Wirral), Berks. (Bradfield) Waite - W. Riding, Wharfedale (Bradford & Leeds) Norman - mainly Southern England - North Devon, Barnstaple but not Cornwall ---------------------------------------------------------- Chapman - fairly common name exclusively English generally Eastern / SE counties ( Aysgarth N.Riding?) ---------------------------------------------------------- Turley - West Midlands, Dudley & Wolverhampton, Staffs. Barber - Macclesfield, West Midlands Arscott - DEVON emphatically, Okehampton (Totnes) Willis quite widespread concentrations in major cities London, Bristol, Liverpool and Birmingham makes it hard to determine origin ( Faringdon, Berkshire )

Hampson - Lancs, Bolton Crowder - At firdt glance Bakewell and Macclesfiefd, but would not rule out Wem (Salops) only 20 instances but percentage of population is high Fothergill - had expected this to be Yorkshire which proved out West Riding, Dewsbury (East Ward, Westmoreland) Lawrenson & Pinnington - almost exclusive to Lancs, Prescot and to lesser extent W. Derby

Magness - southern Welsh borders - Herefordshire - Hereford, Weobley (& Hay) Farmer - Midlands probably, S.East possibly Rodgers - anything below a line from Flint thru Staffs, Northants to Essex, if pushed for location would say Denbigh and Shropshire - Wrexham

Field - 3 areas Middx/Surrey (Islington & Wandsworth), Warwickshire (Birmingham & Aston), West Riding (Dewsbury) Green- too widespread to narrow down, draw a line from Blackpool to Kingston anywhere south of there probably midlands ( def not Wales or West Country) Crane - East Anglia - Suffolk - Woodbridge poss. Uttley - draw a triangle between Burnley, Halifax and Rochdale - Todmorden at centre Winter - too widespread again ( definitely English, not W. Country) Frizzelle - interesting not enough to form opinion (Dudley) but looked at alternatives Frizzel - Roxburghshire Frizzell - Blandford, Dorset Frizell - Wigton, Cumberland
