Thanks Ken Spot on with Readman and extremely close with Spenceley. Although I've found no connection with Weatherall and Co Durham or Notts yet!!! Still very early on with Harrison research so I'll bear it in mind when I'm looking. Very Interesting though! Regards Elaine

Ravenscroft - Cheshire, Nantwich and Whitchurch S. (Northwich) Tams - Staffs., Stone and Stoke on Trent Stanton - interesting definitely Midlands - largest concentration of the name is Dudley, Walsall and West Brom. but as a percentage of population Brackley, Northants would suggest a large migration to industry

Erikoinen

Erikoinen Report 18 Apr 2006 19:31

Britton - very strong presence around Bristol, alternative York and Leeds Illingworth - as expected Yorkshire, West Riding Bradford and Dewsbury Taylor appears to emanate from West Riding & Lancs but is too widespread to really tell Walton - again North & West Ridings and Lancs, also Co. Durham

Hi Ken, Thanks for your reply; My jewell s were Somerset but only because they moved to work in Clarkes. Snook Bath and Somerset Heapey cluster around Yarpole originally way back from Richards Castle Shrops Peddle. Crump Proudman spot on OVertons were from Bucknall but relatives at Shifnal. I guess people didn`t really leave their roots until it came time to look for work in Wales etc. Thankyou very much
