FORD - 2200 occurences in Lancs, 3400 in Middx, 1645 in Devon but as percentage of population highest county concentration Wiltshire. Narrowed down highest occurences Barton Regis 513, Aston 397, Birmingham 321 as percentage of pop. Mere 1.4%, Tisbury 1.1%, Wilton 1%, Sth Molton 1%, Dursley 0.9%, Chapel-en-le-Firth 0.8%, not sure what to make of this other than predominently West of England Pool - Wolverhampton and W. Derby industrial gathering? |

wow! thats a great result.Many thanks here is feedback on the names Kind regards Kat Roberts- absolutely N.Wales and caernarvonshire also denbighshire and merionethshire.My Roberts have a connection to the grandmother of the Earl of Snowden researching it at mo so this info is great. Cartwright-yes again all my Cartwrights from Dudley area Hemming-yes warwickshire Aston France-? but this is a newish name Newman- yes some of our newmans were in southern england for a few years ,but came from the North, the name was changed from Neumann after WW1 my grt grandfather was German.(hence the name change) that just leaves the unusual ones!! Smith-they are everywhere but mine are from the north Dare I ask any luck with Wilson? Thanks again |

Hi Ken, You were spot on with my Yarhams and Dunthornes. Well done! My Kemps came from the same area as my Yarhams and Dunthornes (Walsingham and Docking). (NORFOLK) Ablitts came from Sutton, Waldringfield and Needham Market. (SUFFOLK) Wildings are also called Wilden and came from Needham Market (SUFFOLK) Thanks for this - much appreciated!
