Hannah Grubb/Carpenter has been pretty consistent in stating 1839 Morton (Morrell) as her birth details, where is she on 1851 Census? Why cant I find a Birth Record (other than IGI) for Hannah Grubb - can this be trusted. If I order the Marriage Cert and it confirms Hannah's father as William am I any further forward ? Hi Paul, I have a Thomas Grubb born 1788 in Acronbury Herefordshire marrying an Ann Morris 1828 in Holme Lacy, Herefordshire. They have three kids I have found - Charlotte (husbands ancestor) born 1829 Holme Lacey.

Hi Linda / Heather / Ken Linda I think you may have hit on something here :) In 1861 I found a Hannah Grubb born 1840 as a Servant in Worcestershire- I believe the family to be in Worscestershire around this time (They have a son born Newham 1862). The only problem is she claims to be born Coventry. I cant find any Hannah Grubb born Coventry 1840 +/-5 Years. The Hannah Grubb who Married William Carpenter ssems to be pretty consitent from the 1871 Cenus onwards claiming to be born Morton Morrel, Warwickshire. The only fly in the oinment at the moment is the 1891 Census. There is a'Sister' living in the house Emma Bidmead. I am going to sit down with a 'large piece of paper' and an even larger glass of Red Wine and sort through this one this evening. Am I clutching at straws ???? I have an Oliver Grubb Horn, mother Jane Grubb and at moment am assuming her father is Oliver I also saw Hannah Lomath but discounted it Ken x

Thanks Heather - Not come accross that one - will do some digging . It sounds like the rest of the family desserted poor mum! she sadly dies in 1868 - at least 7 years after the family move from Bucks. I have managed to track down all the other siblings - its just Hannah who is missing ! Cheers...Paul
