Shall I change my name to Slapper with fivers in nix? No, I havent done that one Glen. I have done individual surnames checks for longevity on ancestry. Its a bit worrying that my main lines have a lovely line way above the 'average lifespan' (incredible they were all well into their 80s and even 90s!) until the last 20 years or so when they seem to have dropped just under!! |

Heather Have you ever tried using the average age calculating thingymebob. It uses the info already on the tree and tells you the average age of all the individuals. By my reckoning i have about three years left!!!!!!!! Glen |

If you go to your FTM program, look at the help tab, it drops down and there is a technical help link. It gives you lots of FAQ. I always ignore those and click on the tab at the top which says contact us or something. Remember to submit twice as its one of those where they show you what you have typed and you have to click to submit it. |

Waiting for the post man now. If you submit your G.R. gedcom. to ancestry one world tree it will give you information from any matching trees or references. You can delete the file afterwards if you want to. Frustratingly it only works for direct ancestors and it is the siblings I really want to find out about. I have found three separate branches of my family on there but two were being researched by distant family members from America and one by someone who is researching the history of the Somerset coalfield. My grandmother was a miner's daughter. The research needs taking with a pinch of salt my great grandmother was married to her brother in law but I was able to contact the people who had submitted the data and they helped me with the American side. |

Sylvia, if you trawl through this thread I think Glen has found it on offer for £19 or something including 90 days free ancestry sub. It is easy, I have made a website by clicking the button a few times. |

Hi, you can register by clicking on the tab at the top of the program, that says help. I have to say I did that and still couldnt use the facility til I emailed them and they told me how to re register or something. If you havent used that facility I guess you havent put your family home page on the internet either. That is brilliant - click on create family home page - I think its under the Internet tab. You just have to click Next a few times to do it. Remember to privatise living people when you are offered the option. I never thought Id have a website! You just click on the update button when you want to add more info to it. Another facility is on the web search tab under each individual you can click on the right and it can offer you interesting facts about the surname, such as the number of peeps with that name who emigrated to the states and stuff. |

I'm ashamed to say that Ive been using FTM (2005) for some time and have an Ancestry.co.uk sub and hadnt used this before. But how to I integrate it with my Ancestry sub ? It just offers me the chance to take out a new subscription or a trial offer. Where do I register the fact that I already have a subscription? Wade |
