Hi Rosi No luck with Anne Morris, its very difficult to search when you don't know exactly where she was born their are litterally hundreds of Anne Morris to wade through. In 1881 their is a Samuel Morris listed as a retired butcher but his DOB is 1798 making him to old to be Anne's father i think. I have looked at Samule Morris on the 1901 Census but couldn't any of them as Butchers. Sorry I can't be of more help Regards Cheryl |

Hi Angie DAWSON/BETTON I've had a real good search on 1841 and tried all variations but I'm getting nowhere with the Census. I have found a Susanah Dawson born 1821 on the IGI parents listed as John and Hannah Dawson according to the IGI she was bron in Blurton Staffordshire but it might not be her. Just found this on the IGI ELIJAH BETTON Male Christening: 31 DEC 1818 Wolstanton, Stafford, England Death: Parents: Father: DANIEL BETTON Family Mother: HANNAH But I can't find them on the Census either. Sorry I can't be of more help Regards Cheryl |

Hi Cheryl, My great grandfather John Hall and his brother Samuel are shown in the 1881 Census as living with their grandparents, John and Adeline Jukes and their children at 55 Bridge Road, Tipton Staffordshire. However, I am unable to find their parents, John and Eliza Hall (nee Jukes) - maybe they both died young or maybe I'm not searching properly! Can you help please? Many thanks. Sandra |

Yes, please; I can find William Jefferis, b 1830 Hethersett, Norfolk, and his wife Harriett b 1827 Lynn, Norfolk. on the 1861, but cannot pin him down on either the 41 or 51. He was a carpenter on his daughter's BC (1852), Harriett, and a shoemaker on his son's (1860). William They were living in Shoreditch on the 1861. The spelling of Jefferi(e)s is very variable - the currently used variant is Jefferies. And then there is Samuel Morris, a butcher, deceased at the time of his daughter's wedding in 1903 in Wickford. Essex Legend has it that she 'ran away' from London before she married. Her name was Annie Morris and I think she made up her father and his occupation. She gives her age on her MC as 27. She married Charles Alfred, son of the above William Jeff(e)ries (snr) Would be grateful if you can help - especially with the William Jefferies lot. Rosi |
