Ooh dear, **makes mental note not to invite Teresa over**!!! I always sit at 45 degrees to the desk because that means I'm half-facing hubby who can be a bit deaf so it saves shouting! Also, I either have my legs crossed which I know is bad, or worse, actually sit crosslegged on the chair.......this has lead to a few accidents as the chair is one that has a tendancy to tip over sideways if you lean too far to reach the wine bottle..... The worst bit is that if I look to my left I can see my sideways reflection in the window! Disaster!!!!! Where has the thin girl gone and who is that blob in her place? The one with the stooping shoulders, badly curved spine, fat PC belly and head poking forward??? Aaaaaggggghhhhhhh!! There is a remedy...........great-granny's whalebone corsets and a tight Victorian dress. Nobody slopes about in those old photos do they?? Merry |

I wriggle my toes for a bit of exercise........and occasionally walk the five steps to the fridge to get another glass of wine. |

Valerie, check your posture is correct. Your feet should sit flat on the floor when you are in the puter chair, not hanging, or pushing your knees up. Thighs should be supported. The back of the chair should give good support to the lower back. Your mouse should be close enough so you can use it without reaching. Your mouse wrist should be supported underneath. If you are not comfy with having wrist on table, you can get a mouse mat with a wrist support. Keyboard should be tilted not flat, and level with your elbows. (which might mean you will need a foot rest if the table is high) Elbows should be down by your side and at 90 degrees. Again, wrists should be supported, either by the table or with a gel wrist support to put in front of the keyboard. Make sure you can see your screen well enough so you are not peering at it. if you are, change the resolution or settings to make the writing larger. If you see your screen flickering, the refresh rate is too slow, speed it up. Make sure it is not too bright or too dull. (Am health & safety rep at work, just had whole office doing workstation assessments) |

I have noticed since I have been doing this research lark I have a rather large Belly, it must be from all that bad posture, I also have RSI in my right Elbow and Wrist, any solutions, please other than going back to watching the Telly.Which I am going to do at 9 to see the results of the Dancing comp, then back again for more inches on Tum. |
