I am trying to trace one of my mum's sisters. I have her name, date of birth and place of birth. My mum told me that her sister (who was a baby) was 'given' to a family on their street and my mum who was about 5 was adopted (it would have been in the mid 1940's). I have a copy of my mum's sister's birth certificate but the registrar has told us that their is no official adoption on record for her. Any tips on how we might go about finding her?
