Someone has got to contact him. After this time some closure would be a blessing, particularly if he didn't know and waited for her for ages.

I say yes, write or ring. By the age of 86 everyone has had their fair share of hardships and traumas. And if this is the right Henry we certainly know he has. Your letter/call will surely be one of the nicer things that will have happened to him. Victoria

Maybe! it might be a good idea for the Newspaper to ring Heinz, to check if it is him or not, it might come better from a Newspaper, if you know what I mean.....As soon as I first read this thread, I knew that suitcase wanted to go home lol......Lilly

What a shame he doesn't have an email address. It will take ages to hear back from him. This is an absolutely fascinating story. I wonder if he knew what happened to Herta. Imagine if he didn't know and has wondered all these years and finds out now. Keep up the good work. Toni

Hi Carol Was just about to start drafting a short letter to him. Was going to post it on here before sending so you can let me know if it sounds ok. Unless you think we should hand it over to the Lambeth researchers to continue on with - maybe they would even telephone him. Let me know what you think we should do. He's quite an elderly man now so I wouldn't want to be giving him any major shocks.

Hi Athena perhaps we should write and ask if he had a friend Julius Weinberg and if he ever knew Herta, perhaps then we could tell him of the suitcase being found after 60years and the story in the paper. What do you all think. Carol

Karen Report 22 Jun 2006 12:56

Having just read on here that another name for HEINZ is HENRY, I decided to go back to the US White Pages for another search. Well, I don't want to get too excited because this could just be a total coincidence, but I found this chap: Boley, Henry J 801 W 181 St MANHATTAN, NY 10033 Then I clicked on the tab that said 'More information on Henry J Boley' and found this: HENRY J BOLEY 86 NEW YORK NY So - he's an 86 yr old chap living in Manhattan New York. This would mean he was born c1920. Ok - what do you all think - should I be really brave and write to him? I'd have to be ever so tactful. Nerves are rattling me now!

Just looked on ancestrys community board under Boley to see if they may have been relatives on there, only one with a german connection, born in germany 1868 then went to America. Hertas surname wasnt listed so i typed it in and came up with a list of 12 loebensteins there was one Alois loebenstein who, according to his Cert. of Citizenship, was born Germany on Oct. 12 1865 or 68 (writing is unclear). The Cert. was issued by Cuyahoga County. wherever that is

What an interesting story. You really are a clever bunch. I hope someone buys her death cert to find out what happened to her.
