Margaret it takes up a lot of space - I didnt have a problem as I had a brand new pc when I downloaded last year with hardly any space taken up but I know a lot of people with older pcs were saying it was causing problems. I uninstalled it very easily after I realised it wasnt happening 'now!'. My street was about 5 years previously. The flat where my son lives still had a field next to it where there is a now an old peoples complex - so obviously a few years old too.

I got quite excited about this site till I realised it's not actual moving images........ apparently we've had a van parked on our drive for months!! Still worth a look though Elly

Hi Maggie, The image resolution for Canberra is very high. I live there and I can see the cars in my driveway. The images are a couple of years old but very clear. I have set some locations in the UK and it is amazing when you change from a location in Australia to one in the UK to watch it zoom out, 'fly' across the world and zoom in on the new location. Paul

I don't think I got that Jean, just that my 'pop up blocker' was stopping pictures but it didn't seem to make any difference. Jean

Oh Jean, I dont know I did it last year, you have things round the edge for zooming in, dont you. I remember starting off with just a big area like east anglia, then putting in my post code I think to zoom into the actual town and road? You could see my car and a visitors car in the drive way - you could see the house 5 doors down had either a bonfire or light reflecting from a pond or something.

Ooooo Heather that sounds great, I have it downloaded but can't get that close!! How do you do it? Jean

Heather Report 25 Jun 2006 10:09

It does take a huge amount of memory apparently - thats why some people were having probs with it a time back. Have they updated it at all - last winter it was still showing my house 5 years previously (could tell by the car in the drive).

There are 3 versions (as far as I remember), the free one and 2 professional versions that you have to pay for. The free version is great for personal use.

This is great...I just hovered over my brother's house in Canberra! Thanks for the tip, I had never heard of this. I didn't have any trouble downloading it, and I have Spybot and all kinds of AOL safeguards. The only thing is it disappears after I have been on it awhile, is it a timed out thing does anyone know??

I can't download it on my computer, I'm using an old version of windows! steam driven computer!, but everyone else in the house can. Perhaps that is all the problem is. Suex
