Tell me about it....lol..........just got it now....and i have just seen the state of of the first one.......LOL...........i think i need a fresh pair of eyes... i'll start it tomorrow now as i am already stressed...lol just looked at the first one and it doesnt give you the page number .........i think it might be births doesnt say....just says name of parents surname and registration

just realised DOH!! got my congrats last night and all the details are on there hang on ...........dont think its gone through yet as it doesnt recognise me so i guess it will be tomorrow now......boo hoo;-( I thought it would be quicker than that.........BOO HOO!!

Sylvia Once you have sent your test back to be checked you should then get another Email stating any things you did wrong.... how you should do it in future transcriptions and providing there was nothing seriously wrong you should get CONGRATULATIONS you are a fully fledged transcriber and it has all the instructions you need in the email....telling you how to upload your pages to copy etc.... well i got scan2-D Digest vol 6 issue 90........is that it and where do i download it if it is? then it has other messages on from other transcibers........confused

did you get an email with attachment or did you have to check on bmd?

Did my test yesterday afternoon, got my first transcription today. Typed page, so took me about an hour. Jeff Coleman wants to check it first before I upload it to FREEBMD. Can't wait to get going. Wendy

I did it briefly, is easy, just need to be 'thorough' (for want of a better word) - remembering that people are relying on you to get the information correct.

I have just checked and I am No20 in top 100 for past 7 days of transcribers - Total done 38pages & No.96 in top 100 for transcribers in 56 days -Total done 51 Pages woohoo me lol Lesley :~)

I have not done any for a couple of days but when I last looked I was No.30 in the top 100 (7Days) I was Soooooo chuffed. YEAH WENDY :~)) Welcome to the club lol I started this thread just as an Enquiry as too how easy or hard it was to do and after all the positive info from everyone I took the plunge lol...and others have followed me just from this thread..Im so Chuffed that it convinced others to join aswell.... Have Fun I am :~) It is nice to think I am putting something back even if it is only a small part of the info as the project is so HUGE... hi every1 well that was quick....i am a graduate now so here is me contributing to the world of transcribers...lesley my advisor is angela too....:-)) yeah mine was printed too; think thats standard because in the help section it was the same page i was being tested on sylviax

Thanks to the person who started this thread, I have just registered to transcribe for FREEBMD. Been meaning to do it for ages but thought it was going to be difficult. After reading all the helpful advise on this thread, I took the plunge and am now registered with Jeff Coleman and have just transcribed my first page. Luckily I was given a typed page to start with, and it was so easy. Bet I'm not so lucky next time! Anyone thinking of joining should go for it. They need all the help they can get with this great project. I now feel that I am paying back for all the effort others have made for me and others. Wendy
