lol again Heather I found the predictive Text bit lol and after writing the same surname in 10 times and then I clicked on options and sorted it to do it for me.... Im so clever lol WOOHOO YEAH ME lol Well I have just Downloaded all the bits and just done quite a few off my training scan...bit too late in the night really to start but I just had to have a go I waited so long for the reply off them lol I have printed all the help sheets aswell so I can just look if I get stuck...which I will.... lmao Thanxs for everyones encouragement or Bullying as I call it lol I hope I manage it ok with all your help I am sure I will be ok ;~) Let you know tomorrow when I complete the trial page..... ONE MORE PROBLEM NOW...what do I do when ScribeScan get in touch? as I got fed up waiting to hear from Scan2 .............I asked to join theirs instead but NOW I have been sent all the stuff from Scan2 and thats what I have been on this evening.....I was too impatient I think oops lol...I suppose I will just email ScribeScan when I get a reply explaining that everything is sorted now...... I think we had all better say goodbye to you for a while LOL I did transcribing for FreeCens and it did get a bit addictive - had to ration myself when divorce was threatened ( darn - should have been quick enough to take her up on it !! ) My only gripe with them was that, after all the effort, it seemed they were short of checkers and the last time I looked all my hard work still hadn't been made available online for people. HIYYA Just thought I would let you know as I promised I would that I have done it Woohoo.. Well the Trial page anyway...I did a little bit at a time over 3 days as I have been very busy at home and not been able to get on PC ...It really is quite easy :~) Hope the real thing is like it :~) I couldnt get the idea of BMD verify But I checked after I typed every line in that I had put the same as on the page so I didnt bother with Verify....Do you think I should Have anyway? Cant wait for reply now I hope its all ok.... Lesley :~)

WOOHOO I am a fully fledged Transcriber YEAH I sent my copy of my Training sheet last night at 11 55pm and I have just recieved my reply from Alan with a few hints as to what I had done wrong only little things ..and now I am a full Member of Scan2 and am just going to find my first 2 pages to transcribe...Im so excited lol Thanxs to you all for encouraging me to try.. :~))) Lesley :~)

Lesley, I really do advise you to get BMDVerify sorted because although your method of checking will pick up some errors, it may not pick up any lines that you have missed out completely (and believe me, it can happen!) It's really quite simple to use when you are used to it. What is the problem you are having with it? Perhaps somebody can help! Kate.

Hi Kate :~) I read the instructions on how to use Verify but it stilldidnt make sense.... Move it under line 1 press enter...Move it under line 10 press enter...then I got an orange box with Name District Vol & Pg info.... is that showing what I HAD typed or what I Should have typed? Lesley :~)

Lesley, the box shows what you have typed. You have to compare it with the image and see if it matches. It's that simple! Think about it... if it showed what you should have typed, there would be no need for us to do the typing because BMDverify would be able to do it for us! Kate.

Lesley, I just write down a list of my mistakes and then go back into WinBMD afterwards and correct them, but I believe you can run WinBMD at the same time as BMDVerify if you want to. You can also 'flag' mistakes using the M key (according to BMDVerify's 'Help') but again, I haven't tried this. Kate.

Hi Kate Thanxs for that :~) I have done a little bit of my first piece and it is very easy to read... Have you ever had someone with the same middle name as their surname? I have one on my scan do I just copy it as it is wrote? Lesley :~)

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the scan it has Surname: Blenkinship First Name: Tamar Blenkinship Should I write this as it is? I suppose I should But I just wanted someone else's Opinion.. I will just type it anyway as it says to type what you see.. Lesley :~)

Yes, you should type it as it looks, so she has Blenkinsop as her middle name and as her surname. It may have been a mistake by her parents or by the registrar or it may have been intentional, but we don't have to figure that out, luckily! Kate.
